The igloohome Mortise 2+ is the brand's most capable lever mortise — named Best Mortise Lock by The Wall Street Journal and built with a feature set that earns it. Five access methods cover every situation: fingerprint (up to 100 prints), PIN code, Bluetooth key, RFID tags or stickers (up to 100), and physical key (5 keys included). The fingerprint sensor uses 2D capacitive-contact technology at 508 DPI with support for over 3.5 million finger orientations — meaning your finger can land at any angle and still authenticate cleanly. For guests, the lock's algoPIN™ technology generates time-sensitive codes remotely — no internet connection at the lock required. Send a one-time code via WhatsApp or a week-long code for a house-sitter; the lock validates it entirely offline.

The Mortise 2+ carries a feature that sets it apart from most smart locks on the market: a built-in fire alarm that automatically unlocks the door when sensors detect temperatures of 70±5°C and above — ensuring the exit is never obstructed during an emergency. A panic exit system additionally allows rapid egress by simply pulling down on the door handle, bypassing any authentication. Rounding out the alarm suite are a tamper alarm that triggers if the lock is pried from the door, and an intrusion alarm that fires if the door is forced open while the bolt is still engaged.

Day-to-day usability is equally well considered. Auto relock re-engages the mortise the moment the door shuts. The masking security code lets you enter random digits before or after your real PIN to stay private in public view. Security lockout kicks in after repeated wrong entries, and the igloohome app provides full activity logs with entry dates, times and methods. For Airbnb hosts, the lock syncs directly with your listing calendar to auto-generate guest PIN codes for each booking.
